NEW ORLEANS — The new owners of the legendary Wilder Brothers have taken their collection of exotic animals to a new level.
The owners of four wild and exotic cats and dogs have purchased the cats and a couple of exotic dogs from a New Orleans-area breeder and will be selling the animals to an aquarium.
Wilder Brothers founder John Wilder said he and his wife decided to buy the animals after seeing them in the pet store.
“It’s such an amazing feeling to be able to say, ‘Thank you, thank you, thanks to this wonderful person, the Wilders, for saving this cat or dog,'” Wilder told The Associated Press.
“And they’ve done it in such a nice, peaceful way.”
The Wilders have four wild cats, four exotic dogs, including one cat named Wilder, who was rescued from a cat pound in New Orleans in the early 1980s and is now a part of the family.
The other cats, named Mabel and Milly, were rescued from the Louisiana State Penitentiary in 2005.
Wilders said the Wilder’s adopted cats are very affectionate, and they all love their new owners, including their two dogs.
“They’re really cute, they’re really well behaved, they look at each other, they don’t bite,” Wilder added.
Wilder said the cats have been in good health for a few years now, but he said the dogs are still learning to live with humans.
Wildy Brothers founder and founder John W. Wilder says his family was thrilled to see their first wild cat named Milly.
“It was like we were a little bit surprised when she came in,” Wilders said.
“I mean, I can’t imagine having a kitten that is as much fun to keep.”
